Taking a Skate Through the City With New York's "Mainland"

With their new single, "Leave the Lights on" New York City band Mainland is on fire. Go Lightly Media reached out to The Rock Spot about this great new band and their music was just too good to not share.

Mainland formed in 2011 and has four members: Jordan Topf, Corey Mullee, Alex Pitta, and Dylan Longstreet. As an unsigned band, they already have one EP under their belt released this past February, "Shiner", which contains four tracks.

Today we'll be featuring their latest music video for single Leave the Lights on. Take a look below:

This video has a vintage charm to it as it was filmed on super 8mm film. There aren't any fancy costumes, green screens, or dancers - just the music and a band-made video. The video also exhibits the band's locale (NYC) by skateboarding across the city from Chinatown to Harlem. As for their sound, I'd compare them to New Politics, The Strokes, and a faster-paced Dinosaur Bones.
